And in this corner......

Students did a phenomenal job in creating their earthquake-proof structures. Again, the parameters were as follows: 150 Popsicle sticks, 3 ounces of glue on average (although some certainly did use more than others), a 30 cm tall structure, a floor on the upper half to hold a stack of 10 pennies stable (hopefully), and no closed walls with which to barricade the pennies.

The strength and stability of student structures were put to the limit under the duress of "minor", "noteworthy" and "severe" earthquake simulations.

We also had one student (seen below), whose own building appeared to take a bite out of his own neck! Notice the teeth.

After these three tests, they were tested for strength. Five pound weight increments were added on the roof until the structure was DESTROYED. Rather than divulging the results in this post, I will simply present out 11 structures. Do you think you can predict which three held the most weight?

Drum roll Please.......

Presenting our contenders:

The flower that blooms in adversity
is the most rare and beautiful of all.

Results soon to follow...

Lastly, our students had a wonderful time during our annual kindergarten buddy Easter egg hunt!

As you can see, we had some veeeeeeery eager participants.

All left with a smile, as the weather gods went easy on us with some incredible sunshine.
