Last look at 2015.......

Let's take this moment to have one last look back at 2015. The last week was one of joy and entertainment!

We were treated to a wonderful holiday party (Owl themed of course!!!---see October Blog post) by our class parents to welcome in the new year.

As if that weren't great enough, the 5th grade brought the house down at the Winter concert. Below, they prep their vocal chords at the last rehearsal.

The morning of concert, these wonderful kids were ready to rock and roll and were dressed to impress.

And boy, did they ever! Have you ever wondered what it looks like behind a stage curtain right before the show begins? Well, feast your eyes. A sea of musicians, brimming with confidence and ready to take on a room of watchful eyes and ears. You guys were amazing!

A special thanks to Mrs. Sari and Mr. Fontaine, who did a remarkable job preparing them for this moment. Bravo!

And on to 2016....

The 5th grade has hit the ground running with our Math in Flight Lab, which hits upon the uses and operations of decimals, methods of measurement, estimation, and of course the engineering and design of our planes.

Students have been competing in three different events ("To Fly the Atlantic", "Hole in One", and "Quality vs. Quantity") in the hopes of winning various prizes at the end of the week!

And in our last picture below, you will find the boys' team trying the use "the force" in a futile attempt to push an opposing team member's plane off our makeshift runway.

Do or do not. There is no try.

'Til next time....
