Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow....

So, it is Winter after all. What's a few feel of snow, right everybody? Snow forts, igloos, and snowmen. It's about time!

It's been a fabulous two weeks here in the 5th grade! We've moved on from our "Decimals in Flight" lab and dove right into the study of the layers of the earth,  plate tectonics and what actually causes breaks in our lithosphere. Even more mystifying, what causes theses to move?

In our convection currents lab, we studied the different behaviors of hot versus cold liquids and how these behaviors relate to what is happening right under our feet!

Last week, were led on a guided tour at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where the students continued their study of ancient Egypt and Greece by studying ancient artifacts first hand.

Whoever said (Hint hint!!! Alarm Bells!!! Extra Credit Alert!!!) "Never look back. It distracts from the now....." may have been entirely wrong. We had a blast looking back! Thank you Metropolitan Museum!

'Til next time....
